Before and After

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016

We’re constantly trying to make spaces better–whether it’s residential or commercial. At the same time, there is always the economic question of “does it make sense…?”

The finishes in this World’s Fair era building on the SE slope of Queen Anne were “fully depreciated” and rents were hitting a ceiling as folks will only buy “location” for so long. Redside secured the contractor and products used and then “got out of the way” until it was ready to rent. Nearly every surface was touched in the apartment, and we chased the old galvanized plumbing as far as we could.

We often don’t do a good job taking “before” pictures but have one to share here. Not surprisingly, rents are also up over 35% in units like this after refurbishing–it makes sense economically and we’re all pleased with the result!
