Density and housing prices

The correlation between density and housing prices is direct. Two recent Seattle Times articles have some some notable statistics on both.

As people continue wanting to live in, or near the city, demand for housing drives up the cost of living. At the same time, density continues to increase. Seattle cracked the Top Ten of most dense U.S. cities (though I have never seen this statistic), although it’s worth noting the bottom eight of the “most dense list” lag way behind San Francisco and NYC.

Traffic issues also directly correlate with density and high cost of living, maybe that will the topic of their next article?
