Redside Reds Fall Short in Playoffs

Thursday, July 17th, 2025
SEATTLE, Wash.- The Redside Reds wrapped up their 2025 softball season with a hard-fought playoff appearance.

The Redside Reds finished pool play with a 5–4 record which placed them 5th out of 8 teams and advanced them to the single-elimination playoffs. Their first-round matchup was against the 4th place team, the Louisville Chuggers, who had just beaten the Reds in the prior week.

The Redside Reds faced a tough start as star player Blair Fredrick, a former D1 LSU baseball player, was on vacation and not planning to attend. On top of that, the team began the game short-handed because only four female players were at the start. Due to league gender ratio rules, this meant they could only field three outfielders instead of the usual four.

Despite everything, The Reds locked in and fought to turn the tide in this revenge game since they took the L in the last one and held a solid 2-1 score for the first couple innings. Unfortunately, the Louisville Chuggers came out on top once again, defeating the Reds for the second straight week and ending their playoff run.

Coach Weeks said, “The Reds showed what grit, teamwork, and a little hustle can do. We improved significantly in our 2nd season, and we had a lot of fun! The best is yet to come!”

Redside Partners thanked all of their supporters and look forward to next season!
