Seattle apartment rents definitely up recently, but cooling down now

As the link to the PI below notes, Seattle rents are up considerably over the last twelve months–9 percent as a matter of fact. Wow.

At the same time, we’ve never been able to pinpoint seasonal from economical variations in apartment demand. The two were obviously aligned over the summer; the market was incredibly hot until mid-August. Since then, it’s cooled down some. It’s great to have kids back in school and on a routine but that also means the seasonal apartment demand is trending down for the year.
