Some Good News

It seems like good news can be hard to come by these days but there was a veritable flurry of it today…

First, we feel fortunate to work with a number of great commercial residents. Spinasse, the highly acclaimed Italian restaurant in the Chester, is one of them. News came down yesterday that Spinasse`s chef, Jason Stratton, was named one of Food & Wine Magazine`s Best New Chefs of 2010. I still have a lot to learn about this business but do know they only had one chef from New York and one from Seattle. Congratulations Jason and Spinasse.

Second, and not nearly as obviously “great news”, was the announcement that Amazon.com had started moving its employees into first completed building of its new campus in the South Lake Union area. We currently manage two properties in South Lake Union and many more within a mile. While Amazon may simply be moving employees from other buildings in other parts of the city, this is the beginning of what should be a fantastic employment base even closer to some of our properties.
